Smoker's cough is a common problem that many people who smoke regularly. It is a kind of cough that lasts more than 2 to 3 weeks. Two it occurs not only in serious smokers but also in people who live along with smokers.

To end an uncomfortable smoker's cough, here are some home remedies for a smoker’s cough you can use to reduce inflammation and quickly stop coughing.

1. Water:

Drinking water brings many health benefits. Water is an easy and positive home treatment to temporarily relieve a cough. It can help you get rid of phlegm and breathe easier.

Also, drinking adequate water will maintain the body's water balance and also prevent dehydration.

Recent research suggests that consuming 7 to 8 glasses of water may help smokers improve their cough.

2. Salt:

Gargling with salt water is a good way to relieve coughing. Saltwater has bactericidal and antiseptic effects. Therefore, many people use this treatment for cough, especially for those related to smoking.

How to use:

Dissolve one to two teaspoons of salt in a glass of warm water. Shake the glass gently to help the salt dissolves completely.

Gargle for 30 seconds with saltwater. Do this two to three times a day until the cough has subsided.

3. Honey:

In one study, honey was shown to relieve nighttime cough as well as or more than dextromethorphan, an over-the-counter cough remedy.

Also, honey includes antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents, and the consumption of honey can also, block the accumulation of mucus and break down bacteria.

How to use:

Eat honey in its uncooked form 3 to 4 times a day.
Or, soak the honey with many lemon slices. Keep it in your mouth until your situation improves.

4. Garlic:

Garlic is a natural antibacterial and antioxidant that can help strengthen the body's immune system. It also includes vitamins such as phosphorus, diet C and iron. Its herbal properties can help the body fight viruses and prevent coughing.

How to use:

Take cloves of garlic and squeeze them.
Mix them with a glass of milk and boil this combination until half of the preliminary combination remains.

Then purify the mixture and add sugar if desired.
Use this mixture twice a day for several days.


5. Green tea

Drinking a glass of hot tea every day is considered an environmentally friendly remedy for controlling coughing fits. The antioxidant compounds found in green tea can also help your body minimize the signs of major respiratory tract infections.

6. Ginger and lemon essential oils:

The necessary oils extracted from ginger and lemon have great pharmaceutical value. They can soothe and warm the airways. Therefore, it can help relieve the uncomfortable emotions that a chronic cough can cause.

7. Turmeric:

How to use:
